For the first time, the Haileybury Foundation, in partnership with the River Birch Foundation is providing scholarships to students wanting to study VCE Economics Units 1-4 as a single subject at Haileybury Pangea, commencing in November 2025 or January 2026, for the 2026 and 2027 academic years.

What is VCE Economics?

Economics is the study of how resources are allocated to maximise living standards and ensure prosperity. It attempts to explain how and why individuals behave the way they do and the consequences of their decision-making.

These two-year scholarships are means-tested and open to students who do not have the opportunity to study VCE Economics at their current school.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview with the Haileybury Foundation and the Head of Campus (or delegate). The recipient must be an Australian citizen, or a permanent resident of Victoria within the meaning of the Australian Citizenship Act 1948. The recipient must also satisfy the "equity" requirement of the Rules of the Haileybury Scholarship Fund.

Important information to help with your planning and application:

  • Haileybury Foundation scholarships are means-tested and at the time of applying a family must provide copies of two most recent ATO tax statements
  • Shortlisted students will be invited to attend an interview to discuss their application with the Haileybury Foundation and the Head of Campus (or delegate). A further interview may be requested by the donor of the scholarship. 
  • Please provide only the information requested for your application. Students invited for an interview are welcome to present further documentation of their achievements. 
  • Applications will be considered by the Haileybury Foundation and Haileybury Pangea's Scholarships Committee
  • Feedback on individual submissions will not be provided
  • Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted
  • Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email
