After suffering from two major injuries at the start of 2023, Remi joined Haileybury Pangea in July 2024 upon her return to soccer training. The flexibility of her study routine allowed her to better balance the demands of training with her schooling endeavours. The result has been that Remi has now started to excel across both soccer and study.

Why did you decide to come to Haileybury Pangea?

“As I was returning to soccer training post injury, I was starting to find it difficult to balance my schooling, my studies and my sport, which resulted in me moving to Pangea. The online classes allowed me to adjust my training schedule to suit my body’s needs, especially post injuries, whether that be seeing the physiotherapist and training during the day, and schoolwork at night, or joining my online classes in the hotel room of my soccer tournament.”

What do you think are the best things about studying at Haileybury Pangea?

Remi appreciates the school format that enables her to balance sporting commitments along with study. The flexibility “when juggling school and extracurriculars is something Haileybury Pangea offers that you wouldn’t find elsewhere,” she says.

“They offer supportive and educated teachers who are very keen on achieving the best out of their students, as well as them having the understanding and flexibility themselves to work around each students’ different needs and circumstances.”

Along with the flexibility, Remi says Haileybury Pangea’s unique format allows her to maintain strong school connections.

“The Haileybury Pangea community is the best. Everyone looks out for each other and is open to chat and make new friends.”

What are your goals for the future?

“My long-term goals are to essentially play soccer at as high a level as possible, whether that be A-league, overseas, or national teams. I also want to continue playing soccer as long as I possibly can.”

Remi says she would also like to become a secondary school teacher specialising in PE and Maths.
