Haileybury Pangea's Summer Skill Builder program is a one-week online intensive for students in Years 3-8. There are three programs to choose from - Literacy, Numeracy, or a combined Literacy and Numeracy program.

Application requirements
Haileybury prides its reputation on differentiation and inclusion across varied student programs. However, given its structure and delivery method, the Summer Skill Builder Program cannot tailor to children with complex learning difficulties who require additional support. Their best interest would not be accommodated in this program.
The suggested minimum requirement for the AEAS is 60%. Students below this level may not apply.
- Part A English Assessment- 60/100 – minimum requirement.
- Part B Non-Verbal General Ability and Part C Mathematics Reasoning Ability – 6/10- minimum requirement.

Who is it for?
The online learning Skills Builder Program is open to students who are currently in Years 3—8 (in 2023). There are some application requirements which are detailed below.
Please note that the Summer Skill Builder program is not available to current Haileybury students.
What does the Program cover?
Classes have been carefully designed to help students strengthen their Literacy or Numeracy ability at their applicable year level. Classes will cover key learning areas and enable students to:
- understand, analyse, interpret and evaluate information
- develop and express ideas and opinions
- build confidence with others and participate in Literacy and Numeracy activities at school.
When is the Program held?
- Literacy Courses run from Monday, 8 January 2024 to Friday, 12 January 2024
- Numeracy Courses run from Monday, 15 January 2024 to Friday, 19 January 2024

What is the class structure?
All classes are administered by qualified Haileybury teachers and are conducted in a safe online environment where teachers can monitor each student's progress. Live classes are supported with a range of online resources delivered through our myLearning (Canvas) platform.
What can I expect from it?
Students can develop valuable understanding and strategies to help support their ongoing educational journeys. They can aim to fill in any gaps that may have appeared in the previous year, and build confidence ready for the new school year.

What type of applications do I need?
Students will need admin rights to install software, including Office and Teams, on their device. They will be assisted in doing this prior to beginning the course.
What type of internet connection do I need?
The minimum internet connection speed to undertake a Haileybury Pangea learning pathway is as follows:
- 25Mbps for a single user
- 50Mbps for 2-3 users
- 75 Mbps for 4-5 users
